The Eyebrowdery

For those who know me offline, I’m sure you know that I don’t really do make-up. I can survive going to places without putting anything on. It’s not that I’m already confident with my looks (like seriously. I’m not). I just wasn’t surrounded by people who do make up also.

or maybe because I tend to get lazy..sometimes or a lot of times.

Everything changed though when Summer of 2015 came. After the success of my thesis defense, I ended up exploring the fashion & beauty world bit by bit. (My thesis was originally about food, but upon revisions and more revisions. I ended up with fashion and advertising so I guess, I’d have to deal with beauty topics also) Now, I usually spend my free afternoons (practicing) painting on myself or watching tutorials online. Surprisingly, I find it really cool! The power of make-up can really do wonders!

BUT as we all know. Doing this everyday can be tiring sometimes, especially for those who always go out. You’d always have to put all sorts of cream on your face, paint your lips to your fave shade of pink and even draw your eyebrows every day. It takes strength and motivation to do it as an everyday regime. But it doesn’t have to be like this, with the advancement of our make-up technology now. You and I can wake up to a more beautiful version of ourselves, without holding another brush. Solution: 3D Technology Permanent Make-up

Last Friday (June 26,2015), I was invited by Kim Nuñez (who blogs over at AwkwardKim) to The Eyebrowdery‘s Bloggers Day. The Eyebrowdery is a 3D tech permanent make-up specialist which is located in Connecticut, Greenhills. Talk about permanent services solutions to beautify each client’s eyebrows, eyeliner, eyelashes, lips, nails and more!

Miss Klarisse Tabao, CEO of The Eyebrowdery

Three lucky bloggers each got to try The Embroidery’s signature services: The Eyebrowdery, Eyeliner Tinting & the Lipstick Embroidery. The photo above is the beautiful Miss Klarisse, CEO of The Eyebrowdery, who discussed about The Eyebrowdery’s humble beginnings and the services they proudly offer.

Now let’s talk about the services, shall we?

My friend Kim was the one who got to try the Eyebrowdery and I was so excited for her! I personally believe that her eyebrows are already nice because it already has THE shape, but I guess it just needed a bit more of redefining. Adding a bit more darker shades to the eyebrows would definitely make it stand out and more emphasized. You can drop by the shop and ask for a consultation if you want to know more which shape would best suit you. Don’t worry, it’s free (wink)

They advise you to take Before and After pics so you’ll see the difference!

I met Kim during the TriciaGxSMMakati event late last year. This was actually one of the few events where I got to see her again. ( I got to see her two days ago before this event for the Breast Day Ever)

First thing they had to do was wipe off her make-up. Once that is done, they will line your eyebrows with your chosen shape.

Lining

It is important they they sketch out the shape first. They won’t move on to the next step without the client’s approval.

With the lining done, next step was putting on the anesthesia.

All smiles! (even though her left eyebrow is getting numb from the topical anesthesia) haha

Miss Klarisse and her tools of trade: colors!

I enjoyed the next step so much: Color choosing. While they wait for the brows to settle and completely numb down, they will hand you the palette and will let you choose your shade!  They would be happy to mix it up for you, just incase your preferred shade isn’t in the list.

Coconut Brown x Chocolate

Kim said that she wanted her brows dark, so it would match her soon to be black hair a.k.a school hair haha. We ended up mixing all sorts of shades for her, but she ended up liking Coconut brown and Chocolate.

After choosing, Kim was asked to relax first while they prepare the color for her. “I was so close to falling asleep” – Kim. I guess she’s feeling all comfy now :)

Filling in!

And now it begins! The CEO, Miss Klarisse, is doing the eyebrowdery procedure to Kim herself. She took up classes in the Aesthethics International Academy in Singapore where she got a Diploma in Permanent Make – Up Embroidery.

Right here she’s filling in hair-like pigments to her brows. To be honest, I already wanted myself to be in Kim’s position. She looked so snuggle. Man, I want nice eyebrows too!

Her eyebrows are really looking so on fleek already and we’re still not done yet!

Kim said she could feel what was being done to her, but it didn’t hurt. To ensure the safety of the clients, they use anesthesia all the way from Germany.

When Miss Klarisse was finished filling in Kim’s eyebrows, she then handed Kim the mirror. What I love about The Eyebrowdery staff was they are really keen with what YOU want. On this photo, Kim was explaining what she wanted to be done. She asked Miss Klarisse if she could fill in more parts on her other brow.

So Miss Klarisse went back and attended to what Kim requested.

One of the last few stages of the procedure was putting the last layer of Ink. Kim said this portion stings a bit but it’s really bearable. “okay lang! Maganda naman kilay ko!!” she said and I couldn’t agree more!

Tinsley Garachon was one of the bloggers I met during the Bloggers Day. We both shared our interests on illustrations and art then I fan girl-ed so much when she mentioned that she was a member of Ang Ink. So cool! She is the lucky blogger who got to avail Eyebrowdery’s Eyeliner Tinting procedure!

Safety is always a must. Clients would really have to answer this quick sheet before proceeding. Here’s Tin starting with her sheet.

Again, before anything else. No make up on so we can ensure that the area is clean before the procedure.

As soon as Miss Klarisse was done drawing on her lids. We asked Tin if she was already happy with what she’s seeing. As soon as she approved, we went on with the tinting.

Photo by Aniqa Canlas / SliceofKeiQ

Like what they did to Kim, they also had to put anesthesia on her lids. “Nakakakiliti ung procedure!”. She said it felt like she was just putting normal eyeliner.

The procedure was quicker than Kim’s Eyebrowdery.

Sharmeyne has really nice pouty lips to begin with, but she said that she wanted to try lipstick embroidery to add more color to her face.

Picking her fave shade of pink

A color chart was handed over to Shy and we picked out shades that would best compliment her skin tone.

Before / Look at the lip curve! <3

After picking the right shade of pink that she liked, next thing they did to Shy was to put topical anesthesia on her lips.

Photo by Aniqa Canlas / SliceofKeiQ

On the photo above, Miss Klarisse outlined the lips first with a shade of orange before she went on with shy’s chosen shade of pink. Her lips were a bit dark that’s why they had to tint it first with a brighter shade. It kinda works like hair color, where bright shades won’t stick unless it has been colored / bleached first to a lighter shade.

After the procedure, they placed on After Care on her lips. It might look too red now than pink but we were rest assured that it will fade and heal to her chosen shade of pink.

Shy blogged about her experience also! Check out more of her photos on her blog: Sweet Confessions ;)

Things you need to know before gearing up for a procedure:

  • The procedure/s would take an hour or so depending on the service. It is highly advised that the client must be in a really good condition (sleep wise) also, make sure to eat beforehand!
  • They will give out consent forms which will ask you a bunch of things before you get started. The staff of the Eyebrowdery is always concerned with your health, so tell them before hand if you’ve got any concerns and allergies.
  • The Eyebrowdery gives out free consultations for their clients. It doesn’t hurt to ask questions (and do research) first before getting into any of the procedures.
  • If you’re sensitive to the cold like me, it is best advised to bring socks or jacket. I usually pack myself these two things whenever I go procedures like this. It’s better to be comfy all through out the process.
